I was painfully shy so crushes just felt cruel - I would just go red faced when the person I had a crush on was in the same room.

My mind is forever blown that Musk appears to have read all of Iain M Banks' books and Asimov's, yet has failed to understand a single bloody word of any of it.

Adrian Tchaikovsky writes some great hard sci Fi though you almost certainly already know that. Andy Weir (wrote The Martian) also had a great one a year or two ago, Project Hail Mary,

We were Herbert and The Fried Spaniels. Home keyboard, one string guitar (I tried to tune it like a violin which I could play and the strikgs snapped) and an Oric-1 home computer.

We still exist but tend to use HFS.

As the parent of a trans kid, this makes me incredibly sad. My kid has *always* been the person they are now. There was not some other version that ceased to exist. I didn't lose the child I gave birth to, I gained deeper knowledge when that child decided to trust me with their reality.

I dressed as Phil Oakey for a party once, wearing my wife's high heeled boots. I looked like a crazed murderer.

The Human League (and related bands) always claimed to not be part of the New Romantic scene but instead were Futurists (though not from the identically named Italian fascist movement).

I started buying CDs some time before I was able to afford a CD player. The lure of the bonus tracks.

The only advantage I have discovered from being deaf in one ear is the ability to rotate my head or body to eliminate annoyances.

That and the eternal comedy value of mishearing what someone said for something bizarre and just running with it.

One of his earlier wives left him for their decorator, which is what 'in the air tonight' is about. Somehow the opposite of the question Mrs Merton asked Debbie McGee about what attracted her to the multi millionaire Paul Daniels.

Whatever you do, don't buy a new order pizza. They won't know what it is due to the lack of title on the packaging and the assistant won't ask you what it is because that breaks some unwritten rule of record shop cool.

Yes, I did have to wait 30m in a record shop once for that very reason.
