I do this at work by always referring to hypothetical customers as she. If anyone asks why I point out that no-one complains when we talk about Mr Customer or use he by default.

Can you get one of those panels they have in ikea where you press a happy or sad face to show if you've enjoyed your visit or not?

You can enjoy niche interests without being expert in them. Anyone who judges you and makes you feel inferior is a jerk, regardless of niche.

People who are obsessed with how a railway 'something' was when built versus how it is now. Often found pointing at bogies or windows and laughing.

A man from Merseyside - specifically Frank from the band Oceanic - set fire to my shed one bonfire night with a poorly considered Catherine Wheel fixing.

I once saw a comedian ask a man wearing fairly prominent hearing aids if he was deaf after he was asked a question and gave the kind of answer that suggested he didn't hear the question.

He didn't recover, read a few jokes off his handy pocket emergency list and then left the stage.

Child2 had an endocrinology appt a few weeks back. I arrived an hour early, then spent 75 mins looking for a space big enough for his wheelchair van. There is no mobile reception in the car park. We got there 20m late and they refused to see him. Just mind boggling.

'Really quite poorly' is how my wife's consultant described her terminal illness a2 days before she passed away.

Doctors in the UK have their own special language - but each phrase has a known meaning. If you ever had a letter that says 'it was a pleasure to see Ewa today' - that has a meaning.

Time has passed and life is full of joy again, but thank you. I think we just presume that out memories will just do their thing - it's really unsettling when you try to conjure one up and there's just a blank. I hope yours gets back to normal soon.

I have a really good memory too, but the year post losing my wife is just snapshots. Clearly we did stuff, I parented the kids, dealt with sadmin, I just can't remember it.

My counsellor said it's common, normal even. We don't write memories properly when in emotional distress.

I had the Sony Walkman - playback only - and an Aiwa home deck. Once playing live with my band the DAT machine chewed up a tape seconds after my Amiga crashed. It was a bit stressful.

I loved my DAT Walkman, felt like the ruddy future! I had New Order's Substance 1987 on a pre-recorded tape, the only one I ever had.

Wanting things to be different is the first step on the road to making them different. Sorry if that sounds trite, but if you can find a way to use that desire somehow, you'll get there.

Yay! Just booked our summer hols - going back to house we visited in the spring last year - fully adapted, lift, wheel in shower, hoist, even the cooker and sink is accessible. Middle of the Ardennes forest for a whole week in August. Day trips to Germany and France. Peaceful & beautiful.

I have this awful fear, depending on what the estate agent told him about our backstory, that he's gone home thinking my late wife is buried under the box hedge, next to the bay tree.

A family came to view my house yesterday & brought a pair of seniors. My ring doorbell shows the older man calling over his son & being visibly concerned at a gravestone in the front garden, apparently not realising it was a Halloween prop. He was saying 'it will have to be moved, it's not legal.'

I have a couple of their albums. I'm hung up on this weird thing where they sound like The Mighty Wah to me - who I really like. Made weirder by James Dean Bradfield sometimes playing with The Mighty Wah.
