I may be missing the point. We bought a 1925 house in 1996. We โgot toโ redo the plumbing (house settled, causing the drain grade to be 1/4 inch per foot IN THE WRONG DIRECTION), the electricity (ceramic posts), upgraded the furnace, and put in insolation.
