How much do you blame the public for wanting to be lied to and how much do you blame the media? This is not to exonerate the media because I share your hatred, but at some point the public supports this insanity, or is mute about it. But totally agree, it is a colossal failure.

Thank you. I feel the exact same way.

Even still the headline doesn’t capture the capitulation and seriousness of the matter.

Is credulous the correct word? Is it cowardly? Or perhaps clueless? I guess I don’t know which case is worse.

There are two sets of rules and it is one of the largest problems in this country today. You can’t have a functioning country if one side is allowed to do anything, and the other side is required, not to meet just normal standards, but elevated standards to make up for the other side.

I think comments like this are such a window into the failure of news organizations. Do they even see it as their job to speak candidly and with moral clarity? If no, why? And why should we buy your product? If yes, then this is a failure. I don’t know which answer is worse.

Why can’t blue states stop sending money to the federal government and blue counties stop sending money to subsidize red states?

One day maybe we will all be as perfect as you. I worked like hell to get people to vote and supported candidates to do what you are talking about. The electorate doesn’t want to hear it. And neither do you. I know people sacrificing way more than you will ever do. You just whine. Pathetic.

Yes that’s really the problem. Again, you said it was easy to fix. Fix it. Or shut up.
18.08.2025 15:58 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0
You were the one who said it was easy. Then when challenged you start blaming others.
The reality is it is difficult, really difficult. People are not inclined to vote in their interest. I don’t know why. But I really wish you would look at the world like it is.

Then go do it if it is easy.

Getting people to vote for it is easy?!?! You are delusional. You live in a bubble. Sorry I reengaged.
18.08.2025 15:35 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0
Maybe then you should go out and get the people elected to do it. You make it all sound so easy. Do it. I will support you in those efforts. I am probably for the same things you are. Getting people off their asses to vote for it and get behind it is a completely different question.

I fundamentally disagree with you. It just genuinely feels like you are impervious to discussion so I am done.

Democrats in Texas literally left the state upending their lives. But of course it’s always the Democrats fault people are awful and lazy and they have to fix it. This is image is what this thread is like.

Why do we ALWAYS blame Democrats when the Republicans literally support a racist, rapist, traitor, and protector of pedophiles. We have been screaming for 10 years. Maybe deal with the fact we have a huge section of the population that doesn’t give a fuck because they are women hating racists?
18.08.2025 13:02 — 👍 2 🔁 1 💬 5 📌 1
It’s NOT that they hate politics. It is that people are having to deal with the fact that their family and friends support this thug. And every time it is brought up how loathsome and horrible Trump is it is a reminder how loathsome and horrible those we used think well of are. And it is painful.

Why is there the need to have him on at all? Why not just report he is lying. Having the lie even put out there causes confusion and doubt which is to his benefit.

Thanks for that. I wrote and recorded an entire album about the Trump era. I think we like similar music and you would appreciate the music and lyrics of the album. Would love for you to give it a listen.
Would also be interested if you would like to collaborate.
