How much do you blame the public for wanting to be lied to and how much do you blame the media? This is not to exonerate the media because I share your hatred, but at some point the public supports this insanity, or is mute about it. But totally agree, it is a colossal failure.

There are two sets of rules and it is one of the largest problems in this country today. You can’t have a functioning country if one side is allowed to do anything, and the other side is required, not to meet just normal standards, but elevated standards to make up for the other side.

I think comments like this are such a window into the failure of news organizations. Do they even see it as their job to speak candidly and with moral clarity? If no, why? And why should we buy your product? If yes, then this is a failure. I don’t know which answer is worse.
