This weekend's arson attack on a Mosque in Peacehaven is a hate attack. I join my colleagues in condemning this abhorrent crime.
Islamophobia and hate against any religion have no placeΒ inΒ Britain.
Today's scenes coming from Manchester are shocking and horrific. Violence has no place in British Society.
My thoughts are with the victims of this tragic attack, and with the entire Jewish community across the UK.
We need Britain to be our best and we are better than this!

Janet Daby MP with local residents in Bellingham
I recently met with some residents about antisocial behaviour in their local area of #Bellingham, to discuss the changes that are needed to make a difference for their community.
Residents absolutely deserve to feel secure and live in safety.
Weβre told time and again of the same systemic failings that leave children at risk of harm.
Weβre addressing these once and for all by breaking down barriers to opportunity with earlier intervention and more investment.

Janet Daby MP with some flytipping in Bellingham
Flytipping is a blight, an avoidable mess where one person's inconsiderate actions make an area worse for everyone else.
This week, I had a walkaround #Bellingham with an officer from
@lewisham.gov.uk to point out hotspots, and discuss what can be done to tackle the problem
Our #Planforchange includes a transformation of Children's Social Care, early intervention, supporting kinship carers, recruiting and retaining foster carers, all aimed at improving the lives of our most vulnerable children and keeping them safe.

Itβs been an honour to serve as the MP for Lewisham East and a Government Minister in the last year. I've visited childrenβs services nationwide and spoken to stakeholders.
It is clear that much more work still needs to be done.
Through our Plan for Change, this Government is determined to ensure all young people leaving care receive the support they need. #CareLeavers #Support #Future #OpportunityMission #PlanForChange
