I absolutely loved visiting Bellingham Best Start Family Hub in my constituency!

The passion and zeal from the multi-disciplinary team was fabulous. It was great to meet everyone, and to hear about joint working and the universal support for parents.

Keep up the good work β™₯️

On Remembrance Day, we come together to commemorate the sacrifice of all those who have served our country.

It was an honour to mark this occasion with our local community, including Lewisham's Young Mayor.

Lest We Forget.

Hurricane Mellissa has caused havoc. Today I met Beverley and Joan from Jamaican heritage @St Laurence church - they found the info I am sharing below helpful.

The @FCDOGovUK has a crisis centre offering consular support and is assisting Jamaica.

75 years ago, the House of Commons Chamber was rebuilt following its bombing during the Second World War.

It’s an honour to represent my constituents in this historic chamber and to be a part of this commemoration.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the recent victims of knife crime in my constituency.

Today, I urgently brought this to the attention of the Prime Minister - to ask what further action the Government is taking to tackle violent crime in London.

The news that Hurricane Melissa has made landfall in Jamaica is devastating for the nation and a cause of profound concern for Jamaicans on the island, here in the UK, and across the globe.

As the most powerful storm ever to strike Jamaica, this Category 5 hurricane has already resulted in reports of fatalities and widespread destruction. It is imperative that the government responds swiftly and decisively to ensure humanitarian assistance reaches the country without delay. It is welcome that the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office have set up a crisis centre and that HMS Trent is on standby to assist local communities.

I have met with the Foreign Secretary to raise this urgent matter and have followed up by writing to her to press this issue and to ensure the UK assumes a leading role in supporting the reconstruction of Jamaica and other Caribbean nations affected by this catastrophe.

Reports from the Royal College of Nursing that there has been a 55% increase in the amount of racist abuse their members report is shocking.

Deeply concerned by yesterday's stabbings in Catford. Violence has no place on our streets.

I've been in communication with the police, council and key stakeholders, and I will stay updated. If you have information, please contact the police on 101.

This weekend's arson attack on a Mosque in Peacehaven is a hate attack. I join my colleagues in condemning this abhorrent crime.

Islamophobia and hate against any religion have no placeΒ inΒ Britain.

Today's scenes coming from Manchester are shocking and horrific. Violence has no place in British Society.

My thoughts are with the victims of this tragic attack, and with the entire Jewish community across the UK.

We need Britain to be our best and we are better than this!
