This weekend's arson attack on a Mosque in Peacehaven is a hate attack. I join my colleagues in condemning this abhorrent crime.

Islamophobia and hate against any religion have no place in Britain.

Today's scenes coming from Manchester are shocking and horrific. Violence has no place in British Society.

My thoughts are with the victims of this tragic attack, and with the entire Jewish community across the UK.

We need Britain to be our best and we are better than this!

I recently met with some residents about antisocial behaviour in their local area of #Bellingham, to discuss the changes that are needed to make a difference for their community.

Residents absolutely deserve to feel secure and live in safety.

Government speeds up reforms to protect children from harm Extra £18 million injected into councils in England to roll out children’s social care reforms that prioritise earlier intervention.

We’re told time and again of the same systemic failings that leave children at risk of harm.

We’re addressing these once and for all by breaking down barriers to opportunity with earlier intervention and more investment.

This week, I had a walkaround #Bellingham with an officer from
@lewisham.gov.uk to point out hotspots, and discuss what can be done to tackle the problem

Our #Planforchange includes a transformation of Children's Social Care, early intervention, supporting kinship carers, recruiting and retaining foster carers, all aimed at improving the lives of our most vulnerable children and keeping them safe.

It was heartening to see so many from the community, including from Holbeach Primary School, attend in solidarity. However, it reminds us that we still have more to do to clean our air so that future generations can breathe easily.

I recently attended the unveiling of a statue to commemorate Ella Adoo-Kissi-Debrah, the first person to have air pollution listed as a cause of death on her death certificate. A young life tragically cut short just after her 9th birthday.
