Ha ha. This happened to me on my first day on the job as a reference archivist. Long time client asked for the orange book, I stuttered and stumbled but eventually we figured it out. A few years later he died and left the archives more than a million dollars. I like to take credit :-).

The firing of the person responsible for labour force statistics is one of many pillars crumbling, each one weakening the stability of the US democracy. Public health and healthcare, elections, the judicial system, education, now financial. Public trust is not regained as quickly as it is lost.
