There was something a little healthier about forum posting; I could have an absolute fucking breakdown in one subforum baring my entire soul and then could be in a different one talking about last night's episode of enterprise and unless they looked at my userpage these stayed disconnected.

I read DIE right before I started transitioning and it meant a lot to me, it helped me connect the dots with how I felt about some character gender things from DnD games in my 20s in a way I hadn't.

My mom rules and if I were in her shoes I would have never talked to me again after what I put her through when I was a teenager.

She has been so fucking supportive and understanding while I've been unemployed and transitioning and she reminded me this isn't that bad, even if it can feel that way.

So this does mean every time I connect to someone new I'm explicitly outing myself, until I either remove it and become unverified or legally change. People are also not able to edit recommendations they've left you so I can't ask them to livename me in those, just deadname forever.

LinkedIn removes your verification if you want to use a preferred name, and I've been told they will sometimes also just block your account for doing this.

I got lucky or the variation somehow doesn't count but also I've left one of my deadnames as a connections-only alias.
