18.01.2026 03:55 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is one of those things that makes me so angry about this stuff. We are at an amazing level of technological progress and we canβt even actually appreciate because almost everything they claim it can do is a lie even though what it can do is amazing.

04.12.2025 22:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Please recognize that all people from a country arenβt monoliths with all the same opinions. Plenty of them dislike each for various reasons just like people in the US have differences with their fellow countrymen. There as differences of class, region, language, religion and so much more.
02.12.2025 22:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This is not a gotcha. There are a lot is differences in opinion between 2 & 3rd gen immigrants and 1st gen immigrants. The ones who voted Trump are less likely to be directly impacted by his policies compared to 1st gen and those in the pipeline who arenβt citizens yet.

I work and earn in the US now. Itβs insane being able to easily afford things I could only dream of earlier when I visit India.
India, where the Twitter user is based. It isnβt luxury, but youβd have to be upper middle class or top 5% of the country to wear Zara regularly.
29.11.2025 15:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0To provide some additional context, the twitter user is based in India. H&M and Zara are expensive brands there that the middle class there cannot afford.

29.11.2025 15:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The twitter user is based in India. Heβs not wrong. I also grew up thinking of Zara as an expensive brand for rich people.
29.11.2025 14:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0derek, the twitter user is based in India. The middle class in India can barely afford to pay for Zara and H&M. I couldnβt afford to buy Zara while I was in India. I was middle to upper middle class in India.

WhatsApp communities, on the other hand, can be social-media-like, but at a smaller scale. My husband is part of one for neighborhood folks interested in playing sports.

27.11.2025 21:10 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm an ex-Catholic from a developing country where womenβs rights still have a long way to go. I really appreciate you sharing this point across.
In a society with unequal womenβs rights and lack of legal protections against abandonment, polygamy, women in polygamous marriages are often exploited.
... 3) The Catholic Church is deeply concerned about polygamy and bigamy in countries with *very* poor gender equity rights, and there are a LOT more Catholics in those countries than in the US.
Sorry to rain on the Tumblr parade but the Church *should* take this position as a *global* Church
I donβt remember when the shift in terminology happened but itβs been one of my biggest pet peeves in recent times. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini etc. are large language models or a form of generative AI. I hate using the generic term βAIβ for them which has been around since at least 1980s.
26.11.2025 18:35 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0No, itβs just an absurd use of the term βAIβ which historically has meant ML, neural networks, deep learning etc. and used in a large variety of fields.
What people dislike is a specific type of AI i.e. generative large language models usually accessed through a chat interface.
If thereβs a market solution that is adequate, the state-run program will fail, we will all learn a lesson and move on. But if market solutions arenβt adequate, state-run stores will succeed and hundreds of thousands of lives will have improved. I think thatβs an experiment worth pursuing.
26.11.2025 18:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So the city-run stores will fail and everyone will learn a lesson?
26.11.2025 17:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Great, so if this wonderful option is available why arenβt more people using them?
26.11.2025 17:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You are right provided that operational metrics are the same in these otherwise neglected neighborhoods (average order size, average margin on orders, failed deliveries, complaints/refunds).
26.11.2025 17:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 07. Walmart wonβt change itβs subscription terms as a reaction to increased grocery delivery burdens from certain segments (zip codes where delivery is made, hours of operations, additional costs, changes to the $35 limit)
26.11.2025 17:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 15. Delivery produce will be good quality (I have used grocery delivery and donβt like using it for fresh produce because of poor quality in delivery)
6. You donβt have any unplanned/emergency grocery needs which would cost <$35
Grocery delivery makes may assumptions:
1. Delivery is available (zip code, neighborhood)
2. Delivery doesnβt add additional costs (W+ subscription, service fees, tips, etc. )
3. Someone will be at home during the hours delivery will be made
4. Delivery items will be safe until pick up (1/n)
Dale Partridge on Twitter writes: "Feminist media is BIG mad about me saying that women shouldnβt wear underwear (leggings and sports bras) as outerwear. A friend who teaches theology shared with me a post about CS Lewis's Mere Christianity, which discusses foundational Christian logic across denominations. It reminded me of Dale's tweet below, and I wanted to share some thoughts here regarding modesty and respectability, which are often hot topics.
