ICE Agents Menaced Minnesota Protesters at Their Homes, Filings Say

As part of its established procedures, ICE sends agents to pound on the doors of protesters at home and tell them "We know who you are and we're coming for you." The tactics of incompetent state terrorism.

Trump’s Minnesota Retreat Points to the Power of Public Anger

"Trump doesn’t believe in anything except himself... When that resistance and those protests actually made his policies tremendously unpopular, he relented. And I think it’s a lesson that we should apply elsewhere when he engages in outrageous activities...”

Absolutely insane that our elites are not screaming about this. We have a generation of leaders who have completely failed to internalize the values of democracy. People of no conviction whatsoever. Truly the iron cage.

Trump Administration Announces That We Don’t Know Where the Sun Goes at Night After deciding carbon dioxide does no harm, it was the logical next move.

"A new ruling from the Trump administration says that when the sun disappears at night, we don’t know where it goes. All remaining top scientists have been taken from their positions and tasked with getting to the bottom of this."

Utterly unacceptable in a democracy. In a sane world, House Republicans would be drafting impeachment articles today and Senate Republicans would be preparing for a trial to convict and remove him from office

The same day DHS announced the surge would end in Minnesota, ICE activity increased in small towns The less densely populated areas outside the Twin Cities make it harder for protesters and observers to organize.

"It’s not hard to see why ICE has expanded its reach beyond the Twin Cities. The qualities that have hindered ICE’s operation in Minneapolis and St. Paul β€” density and walkability; a large, almost exclusively left-of-center population β€” are absent here."

How the Democrats Can Play Offense on Immigration Typically, Democrats run for the hills when immigration comes up. But as two blue-state governors are showing, the winning play is actually to confront ICE and MAGA xenophobia head on.

The extraordinary courage of people who are documenting ICE atrocities in places like Minneapolis, at great personal risk, are also achieving something else: They're changing the public's mind about immigration. We have a rare opportunity here. 1/

WTF?! The GOP’s β€œSave America Act” (previously just β€œSAVE”) requires that states implement voter purge programs using programs such as the β€œSAVE” system, which consistently marks citizens as noncitizens, per this report by ProPublica & Texas Tribune. The Act imposes *no penalty* 4 faulty purges. 1/

Trump boasts of over $1.5B in political funds. How he chooses to spend it could rock the midterms President Donald Trump says he's amassed a collection of campaign funds exceeding $1.5 billion, an unprecedented sum for a lame-duck president.

Democrats Are Trying to Court Rural America, Once Again Will this time be different?

2026 presents Democrats with a once-in-a-generation opportunity to make long overdue inroads with rural voters.

It's going to require time, investment, and perhaps most importantly Democratic candidates who fit their electorates and can actually win.

Not the point of her important thread but I just want to note:

It is immoral and uncivilized how people *indefinitely detained by the government without even any charges filed* are not provided legal assistance, the burden falls on public interest nonprofits and private lawyers working pro bono.

"CDC terminates grant for Minnesota meant to strengthen public health infrastructure

Today, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed that they have cancelled about $38 million in public health investments for Minnesota, effective as of Feb. 11.

The terminated funding is from the Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG), and is the latest development in the federal government’s ongoing campaign of retribution against Minnesota This five-year grant began in 2022 and was set to expire in 2027. Nationwide, 107 health departments across all 50 states received this funding, but only Minnesota and three other states are having these funds cancelled."

The ICE surge may be ending, but retribution comes in many forms- including selective termination of funding. This is retaliation, and will harm Minnesotans

Your voices, dedication to peaceful protest, documenting federal agents’ abuses of power, and commitment to providing for each other made this happen.

There's more work to do, but this is a win for Minnesota.
