Mistigram: in unixlikes, the command 'cat' outputs the contents of a file to the screen. In this case the file was a (#PETSCII) #ASCIIart illustration of a cat, so the artist @littlebitspace.bsky.social needed to 'cat cat'. This recursive piece was included in the new cat-themed MIST0725 artpack.

Two housecats with keen curiosity and perky whiskers, the nearer with grey fur, in front of one with a more orange colouration, crowd their faces out of the darkness into a grey viewing frame. They are named as Orion and Felix.

Mistigram: judging from their enthusiastic mustering, these bright-eyed characters, Nitron's buddies Orion and Felix, must have just heard their song being played on the wet food can opener. This #ANSIart group portrait was included in the new, cat-themed MIST0725 artpack collection.

Started on a raycast game for #lowrezjam over weekend.

Got a special rendering system working. Shelf sprites are generated on the fly in unused space, so each is unique.

Mistigram: this big-eyed #ANSIart feline is #Shampoo, a cursed Amazon, from a 1994 installment of Rumiko Takahashi's #Ranma 1/2 manga. It was drawn by @zeusii.bsky.social , apparently for use as a BBS logoff screen, and was included in last month's unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection.

itch.io just quietly put up their new "Adult Content" standards: itch.io/docs/creators/faq#is-adult-content-allowed Read the whole page. The endgame of puritans using payment procs to censor content is to ban everything but the most anodyne art from sale, SFW or not. To erase the line between fantasy and reality, to then silence real voices. No victim of trauma allowed to make art talking about their experiences. No one allowed to make art to put a spotlight on systemic issues with society. No one allowed to bring powerful people to task for their evil deeds. No one allowed to feature even the mere *discussion* of sensitive topics in their work. What puritan activists *say* they want is to ban "child abuse"; what they *do* is ban anyone from *talking about it*.

There are famous books regularly assigned to students in literature classes that would fall under this ban. *The Bible* would be banned from sale for featuring, among other things, sexual violence and sex trafficking. Hell, there are *children's picture books* that would be banned from sale because everything "animal-related" has been lumped in with "bestiality". Puritan activists don't want sensitive topics in art, because that would allow people to call them out for the acts of *real* evil they have committed. That's why they wield the global power of American payment procs to dictate what legal products can or can't be sold: because anything else would squash their efforts before they can start. And it's why we must put a check on that power: it is absurd for a single-digit number of companies in *one nation* to be able to decide what *the world* can buy.

Since the last post I wrote on this subject, there is now a page you can visit with details and resources on how you can get involved in protecting queer creators and sex workers from further abuse by payment processors forcing puritan policies on platforms that threaten freedom of expression: yellat.money Follow the guidance on that site, call the payment processors, and do everything else you can do as the page suggests to make your voice heard. Because as this new "Adult Content" standard shows, it won't stop at queer creators and sex workers. This puritan censorship initiative will affect *everyone*. We will make it through. We've done so many times before. But it won't happen unless we *fight*. Stay strong.

Most of the internet used to be like this. This is actually the default, it took companies enclosing the internet and adding weird, soul-killing incentives to make people behave the way they do now. In a way, there is truly nothing special about Wikipedia except that it survived longer.
