just as twilight lays root
and the train whistles call
with #abject and abrasive tones
louder than they should,
stronger than the bells of yesteryear.
I can't help but remind myself that
the rooms in which you're wanted
are always the warmest.

watch them swap
in a desperate attempt
to go a bit faster
hoping the switch

So much in so few words – lovely.

A hole in a tree
can be many things
over the years.
A woodpecker's nest,
and wood beetle's next,
then a pixie dream home
for a family of squirrels.
And eventually,
as the hole expands
and the wood rots from within
as we all do with age
an owl might come
to call it home.

for enough time
that you notice the stars
tick through the sky
and where they are
becomes where they were
even though they are still

they huff and they puff and
stomp walk, unstable
putting more thought into clomps of the foot
than the step, so you bet
that they look like a grumpy old fool
just like I do.

To be laughing

is to feel something so much

just little old me
with some scattered toys in the dirt
and the spiders all around

It feels like half the #news articles are like this now, and they're all just about someone making a social post.

Feels like a pressure relief valve for our psyches. It's inaction being masqueraded as someone doing something.

What a prank we played on us.

Unstoppable systems put in place by
Immortal institutions that are
poised to poison.

We took steps to progress
but now we are stumbling forward
caught by the inertia,
fighting the past for the future.

Grandma taught me that
