They're not universal, AWS parses different from Linux, and I think Linux has a couple versions itself.

Btw, there is a reason Onlyfans is so huge. They were willing to take some of the risks, moderate enough, and have enough rules, that the big money players were willing to work with them (for a time, they had issues a few years back?)

Before then, individual performers were going the crypto route.

It took an entire department (not a huge one, but a department) of engineers just constantly reintegrating with 3rd party processors and negotiations. Why constantly reintegrating? Each one has their own API, and they're regularly being shut down, new ones rise from the ashes.

The storefront needs to be big enough to be able to eat the costs if one of those processors goes belly up.

Refunds? If you're lucky, processor will refund, often storefront just takes the hit.

Most 'alternatives' are using offshore payment processors that have huge fees and are often fly-by-night, they're shut down pretty fast. They're sometimes fronts for money laundering and often to get around embargoes

Pornhub just isn't that big of a company...it's ran by 5 or 6 folks and their expertise is around large website CDN.

There are some funny/interesting things going on.

For example, USA has pretty lax porn laws, but we do have some laws around them. Blood being a big one, real blood and sexy times, even consensual? Pretty big nono.

As someone that worked in the nsfw industry for a bit, this payment processor and itch/valve fallout is pretty much a flashback.

People just don't realize how much power these payment companies have and how little you can do but comply.

Haven't really been a fan of South Park for a long time, but that newest episode (S27E1) might go down as one of the most important television episodes ever to air.

They might have just thrown away $1.5 billion in order to take a stand against this administration.
