GlobalβScale Shifts in Rooting Depths Due To Anthropocene Land Cover Changes Pose Unexamined Consequences for Critical Zone Functioning
Earth's Future is a transdisciplinary, open access AGU journal examining the state of the planet, sustainable and resilient societies, and the science of the Anthropocene.
Hydrology Paper of the Day @hydrolejo.bsky.social and colleagues on quantifying global changes to rooting depth due to human-induced climate change: thousands of square kilometers of rooted volume lost; a spatial geography of root deepening; and changes in agricultural land and woody plants.
