I just tilted one of my lamp's adjustable lights down to better see if the dark spot floating on the surface of my coffee was a coffee ground or a fruit fly, and two dead bugs fell out of the lampshade and directly into my mug.

Once Halloween is over we should be allowed to hibernate until springtime.

When I've been revising for a long time, outlining a new thing is my favorite part of writing; by the time I'm done outlining, drafting's my favorite part; by the time I finish a first draft, revising will be my favorite again.

So these just-switched-to-the-next-bit moments are my favorite feeling!

Good morning, friends! It's Saturday! I'm taking my kids to Spirit Halloween and then carving pumpkins later today! Hooray!

It's Friday! Friday woo! One of my kids has a zoo field trip and the other has a Kids Night Out after school and I? I have laundry. But I also have podcasts to listen to while I do laundry!

Good morning, friends! Today I feel like becoming a hibernating creature in a cozy den, undisturbed. Instead I will do chores and go to work and make food and check homework and write and make important phone calls and continue to be an adult human. But eventually bedtime will come!

I wish I was better at singing and painting and bowling, but at least I'm not the kind of person who is cursed by the inability to do enjoyable things just because I am bad at them.

In a woodcut released today the Guild of Thieves and Cutpurses declared that enforcement of regulations against Thieving and Pursecutting would ‘devastate a growth industry’ and damage the economy.

So as life usually does, especially with a newborn in the mix, things got a bit crazy. I finished These Familiar Walls by @cj-dotson.bsky.social a few days ago, but just could not find the time to sit down and type this out. This book for me was a 10/10, and honestly
