Yeah I'm an Atheist now but was raised Catholic and I could have sworn I was taught this in school.

Probably still in the completely unaware stage of

"Haha he is going to get so _owned_ in the midterm elections which will definitely still happen and be free and fair elections!"

I mean you'd think it would be obvious what happens when someone who attempted a coup gets back into power.

Seriously what is up with this user interface, does it mine a Bitcoin on the UI thread every time you hit left or right on the remote, what gives?

If only there were an algorithm for scrolling through a list of thumbnails that ran in less than factorial time. Alas...

Thought I saw a thumbnail for a promising horror movie on Paramount Plus, turns out it was just the skeletons of a family that died of old age waiting for the TV app's user interface to scroll to the next movie in the list. *Phew*

I'm very pro-visual scripting but I do think it's at least worth learning a language like C#. Knowledge is power and all that.

It can come in very handy when your engine of choice doesn't fully expose a feature to visual scripting, or just allow you to make your graphs simpler.

Even when an industry has challenges, I've never been a fan of telling young people "if you're thinking of getting into the industry: don't".

If someone is strongly motivated to pursue a career path, they're absolutely going to do it no matter what you say, being overly negative helps no one.

Just saw it in Toronto a few weeks ago, was really good! I was really impressed with the car, as I didn't expect anything like that

You know when the A-Team gets captured but the bad guy conveniently leaves them trapped in a garage full of random objects and a broken down van.

Shooter game where before every boss fight you have to build some kind of physics contraption in a garage to defeat them.

Like a van with a catapult on it, or with a tyres set up to launch two by fours or something.

Like those bits in the A-Team, MacGuyver.

Aw man, RIP to Tomas Lindberg.

Slaughter of the Soul is one of _the_ classic metal albums of the 90's. Not to mention all of his other contributions to related genres.

Will definitely be missed

The urge to play Vengaboys for comedy value when you have control over the presentation screen at an internal work conference.

No, we must not let the intrusive thoughts win

Seems to me that since the pandemic, some temporary foreign workers were used to halt the upward wage pressure in sectors like fast food jobs during the "no one wants to work any more" era.

And people believe Conservatives are going to piss off business owners who benefit from that? Lmao

Being from the generation that first accessed the internet as adults, those early years on the internet were such an eye opener.

People on forums asking questions like "hey I broke my leg, but I'm not on my parents' insurance. Can I just let it heal naturally? I can just walk it off, right?"

It took me a long time on the internet, before I could process American healthcare stories as being real and not something from a Charles Dickens story.

I mean I knew intellectually that they weren't lying, but it took a while to fully accept it as real if that makes sense.

Sure is a good thing Trump has an extra two Supreme Court justices, allowing him to basically make the law say whatever he wants.

Say, who was responsible for that happening? I forget now.

It really is a shame none of this stuff is ever seen externally, because some of it is extremely funny.

Early on on Blacklist, one of the animators that had come from Montreal showed us a blooper reel from Conviction that was hilarious.

Someone had made Sam's toddler daughter the player character for a laugh, watching her going around doing hand to hand kills had me in tears

Back when I was still at Ubisoft, I had a folder on OneDrive full of a decades worth of blooper reel videos that are now sadly lost to time.

Oh and if the animators forgot to set up an animation for weapons, then it'd be attached to the pelvis... So lots of funny videos of Sam running around with an AK47 coming out of his crotch.

This also happened for particle effects too, so that one time Sam was bleeding out of his arse constantly

We also had some great ones like being able to perform hand to hand attacks normally reserved for humans, so pulling dogs off of ledges or out of windows, which looked hilarious. Dogs using the heavy hand to hand denial animation on you. Dogs opening doors when searching for you.
