New numbers reveal 10,000-plus Ontario college layoffs, 600 programs cancelled or suspended over past year Post-secondary layoffs and program cuts — spread across 24 public colleges — have hit both urban and rural communities and nearly every discipline.

"In what’s being described as one of the largest mass layoffs in Ontario’s history, more than 10,000 college faculty and staff have been let go and more than 600 college programs suspended or cancelled over the past year."
