I made plenty of mistakes--planted too close & didn't thin, overwatered for weeks so the stalks were tall and the roots shallow causing them to fall over in the wind--but I still ended up with lots of delicious corn.

This morning, my 10yo left for school without giving me a hug for the first time. I was on a work meeting, but that’s never stopped him before. Work from home perk - morning hugs. Work from home negative - the hugs eventually stop.

I was surprised. It seemed like the younger generations were much more empathetic and tolerant of other people's choices than the boomers that raised me and my fellow genx/xennials. Then they grew up.

And this will be the third time I've shared this comic.

The advice I've heard (and follow) is that you leave the suckers on determinant tomatoes, but prune them on indeterminant tomatoes. Indeterminants keep growing and growing, so if you leave the suckers it will grow more stems and less fruit.
