P4: close up of cartoon me as he stares silently at the page, with an uncertain look on his face P5: same POV, except now cartoon me has a big smile on his face P6: POV pans back to reveal the room cartoon me is sat in, which is shrouded in darkness. Out the window, a city is but jng in the distance, while the door to the room is barred shit with a plank of wood wedged under the doorknob. Cartoon me remains blissfully oblivious, as he stares smiling at his creation.

15+ years old, but still VERY relevent — and if we had acted 15 years ago, the “better world” we’d be creating would be a LOT better & easier to reach. There are real consequences we’re just starting to see to not heeding this cartoon a lot sooner. Even worse if we don’t heed it now. #ClimateCrisis

I couldn't sleep last night because this comic strip popped into my head. 7 disappointing ways the 21st Century is like Star Trek. People wearing matching sport casual leisure wear (A couple wearing futuristic tracksuits walking in the park) Holding your phone and shouting into it rather than putting it up to your ear (A bloke on a bus holding his phone in that annoying way and a girl behind him thinking "I wish someone would beam him up…") You can yell at your computer (A man yelling "Alexa! I need more power!" and his device responding "I cannae get any more power") Everybody has a captains log (A man in a tracksuit talking to his phone on a tripod saying "Day 347 of my fitness journey") Video calls when not strictly speaking necessary (Captain Picard is exasperatedly saying "You’re still on mute" to an alien on his screen) People of colour can sit at the top table but only if they work in comms or are a driver (Captain Kirk is saying "Warp factor four Mr Sulu" and Sulu is saying "Aye aye captain" while Uhura sits in the background doing comms stuff) …and the most senior woman is head of HR… (Deanna Troi is saying "I’m sensing your concern…") But at the end of the day we all secretly fear Data going rogue… (Commander Data looking a bit concerning…)
