A vertical poster with a deep green background. On top, an illustration mostly with block yellow, blue and orange colors shows a yellow sun on top raeching its hands around to form a large circle around a scene of a neighborhood with kids playing, a swing set, and people with linked and raised arms. It has the words, "What does labor want?" A large colorful poster in a scratchboard style, with a lengthy quote in block purple lettering in the center. The quote is framed by a red rose with green leaves, curving up the left side of the image; a yellow sun in the upper right with rays streching across the entire top of the page; and a tree with green leaves on the right, underneath which a woman with a black top and blue skirt sits gazing upwards and to the left. The bottom is a wavy field of blue. The featured quotation reads: โ€œWhat the woman who labors wants is the right to live, not simply exist โ€“ the right to life as the rich woman has the right to life, and the sun and music and art. You have nothing that the humblest worker has not a right to have also. The worker must have bread, but she must have roses too.โ€ Rose Schneiderman Feminist Labor leader 1912.

Do you know the history of the phrase "Bread and Roses"? It means we don't just deserve the basics of survival, but also quality of life. And textile workers sang it on this day in1912 with the beginning of the Bread and Roses Strike in Lawrence, MA, aka the Singing Strike.

Against a blue abstract background, several illustrated people are shown from the waist up facing the viewer, drawn in black ink with watercolored shirts and faces. They trail into the horizon, each holding a sign with a representation of different community issues: one has a plaground, another a peace sign, others the scales of justice, a book, a home, a playground slide, a bus, and kitchen implements. Only three of the people, have words on their signs, which say "Our Fight," "Our Rights," and, largest and closest to the viewer at the bottom of the page, "My Vote."

A poster dominated by yellows, browns, and blues, framed with an arch in a middle eastern style with a moon and stars on one side and sun on the other. โ€œThey say that other country over there, dim blue in the twilight, farther than the orange stars exploding over our roofs, is called peace, but who can find the way? This time we cannot cross until we carry each other. All of us refugees, all of us prophets. No more taking turns on historyโ€™s wheel, trying to collect old debts no one can pay. The sea will not open that way. This time that country is what we promise each other, our rage pressed cheek to cheek until tears flood the space between, until there are no enemies left, because this time no one will be left to drown and all of us must be chosen. This time itโ€™s all of us or none.
