Also the Christmas bonus is a big sloppy smooch from an actual dog and a trip to the post office. But you can buy a cookie on the way!

People talking about hot Target Santa ain't got shit on my OG hot Santa. He brings gifts (stolen gold) and is morally judgy, but certainly not without sin. And he wears a hat and a red coat! He's simply hot Santa!

Through a conditioning whoopsie I did to myself, in my soul, I believe Muppet Treasure Island is a Christmas Movie.

Big kudos to artists out there with stickers as a part of their shops, because navigating the pricing, and minimum quantities, and options, and which ones are openly fascist is exhauuuusting. ๐
Congrats on 1000! Always delighted to see your work on the timeline! ๐

This is very rad! The weathering on Bound might be a little much for primo legibility? Losing the bottom of the B especially, but the vibes are toothy and grabby!
22.11.2024 04:17 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Look, I've been playing TTRPGs for 20 years, and if there is one thing I've learned, it's this:
If you make an NPC pathetic, physically diminutive, and obviously NotHumanโข๏ธ, players WILL adopt it.
What "pathetic" means may vary by table, but the formula holds true. Give 'em a sad, scronchy monster.
What a pull.
18.11.2024 15:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I let a handful of students into another teacher's classroom. One of them I had in debate last quarter. He is an overall well-behaved kid, and very bright for a 9th grader, but LOVES conservatism. As I let them in, this lad turns to me and says, "This makes sense. You're probably an anarchist."
18.11.2024 15:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A basket with handfuls of tomatoes, three large cucumbers, and lots of dark, leafy kale.
Save seeds the first year for the second, and it's basically an infinite food hack? Grocery stores are expensive and choosing not to capitalism in this way is a revolutionary act that connects you to millennia of your forebears and the earth. It's well worth a try!
17.11.2024 16:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Anyway, if you have a place that's stable, I recommend trying your hand at it in spring. Buy a big, big pot, put it outside (even a balcony works great!), fill it with dirt, toss a plant you like to eat in there, and water it if it gets dry.
Nice leafy lettuce? Tomato? Hot pepper? Herbs? Whatever!
It shouldn't be-- that's how humans have done things up until comparatively recently-- but it is. Anyway, with the, you know... Everything, gardening has become even more practical. The seeds from my local library can feed my family and friends all summer, and I get to play in the dirt!
17.11.2024 16:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I think the only food she ever grew was rhubarb, a gift from the home's previous owners, but now, all I want to do is grow food. I have a lot of hobbies, but gardening is the one I most feel I can share with the people I love. Making a meal that was entirely from your hands, seed to plate, is wild.
17.11.2024 16:30 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Every spring, without fail, despite the fact that her yard was mostly shade. Gramps had built squatty little boxes, and we would carefully tuck shade-tolerant annuals into sandy soil. I loved playing in dirt together, the care we put into these scraggly little leaves, how they exploded into color.
17.11.2024 16:29 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0When I started gardening, it was because my grandma had always (with moderate success) gardened.
Connie has a notorious black thumb. She famously overwatered a rainforest plant, underwatered a cactus, and froze a fir tree. It almost feels like she's trying to kill them?
But she planted flowers.
Truly the dream.
A little garden with lots of peanuts and sunflowers? A big courtyard with trees and benches and gargoyles to land on? Time to read and write and paint as long as you and the crows are fed? Soft hills, a little river, miles from the next structure, surrounded by like-minded friends?
Don't threaten me with a good time.

13.11.2024 20:46 โ ๐ 65 ๐ 21 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It does kind of feel like a psyop, tbh.
I've gotten pretty fast at a very specific math that is like what is the least number of times I have to print to get 26 copies with the least overage? (5 and 1)
Also, I think our tech director makes three times what I do ๐ค
07.11.2024 17:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0There has been an issue at the school where I teach wherein any number you put in for print copies gets squared?
My colleague printed 169 copies of a nine page story, and because it now refuses to collate, and doesn't leave an endpage on double sided docs, most are goofed.
Public education is fun!
If you'd like to expand your understanding here Dave, Alie Ward has a fantastic podcast with Russell Barkley, who is one of the absolutely preeminent scholars on ADHD. He has a lot of great information about the potential causes and how the reporting has changed and is again, sort of THE guy.
05.11.2024 02:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I am sure you are coming at this from a good place, and I know as a person who has ADHD that it can be a scary thing to rationalize.
But I also know that 75 years ago, no one would have thought I was anything but "absent-minded". My grandma never got diagnosed, and so much of her is me.
Like what, David?
04.11.2024 21:44 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0You're right, I absolutely would've. Put that other thing in your pocket for later, when you need a hat to put on something.

03.11.2024 00:17 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I bought this RPG having seen a single page, and it was entirely because of the world-building in this one page. I honestly am not sure what the mechanics *are*. Now granted, I am a story-first girlie, but fill me to the brim with bizarre ephemera every single time. That's what makes the story go.
