John Hiller in 1974 had 31 decisions (17-14 in 59 games) for the record, but Mike Marshall had back-to-back seasons of 25 and 27 (14-11 in 92 games for the 1973 Expos, then 15-12 in 106 games for the 1974 Dodgers).

I was thinking that Jeff Hoffman's 16 decisions for the #BlueJays seemed like a lot for a pure reliever, so wanted to see what the records looked like. There are 58 occurrences of a pitcher having 20 or more decisions in a season and no games started.

Surprising, to me at least: #BlueJays per-game attendance this year is only up 616 from last year (14th best change in MLB - Mets up over 11,000, Cardinals down almost 8,000) according to Baseball Reference. Of course that gap may grow in the remaining 12 home games! @wilnerness.bsky.social

Lots of respect for Bill James, but he is not infallible. Here’s a fact that I found interesting. There are 9 players with Allen's career OPS+ of 156 or better who have 3000+ PA and are not in the HOF.
