Government will shut down overnight after Senate blocks funding extension Government funding will run out at the end of the day, and lawmakers do not have a bipartisan solution.

Breaking news: The government will shut down at 12:01 a.m., after Senate Democrats blocked a Republican bill to extend the funding deadline.

It’s the first shutdown since 2018-2019.

We went on our very first #HiddenLondon tour today, deep under the bowels of Piccadilly Circus. Old signage, original Victorian-era brickwork, shades of the Blitz and creepy metal shafts. Ghosts everywhere. Thoroughly recommend, link to more info here www.ltmuseum.co.uk/hidden-london

Joann to close about 500 fabric and craft stores nationwide. Here's where stores are closing. Fabric and crafts retailer Joann has announced it will be closing approximately 500 stores nationwide, almost a year after filing for bankruptcy.

Every single Joann's Fabrics in my region of Maryland and Pennsylvania is closing. Only 1 of their stores will remain in the state.

Today I had a conversation with a colleague about people we know in common and key technology initiatives and research in the LAM tech community over the past 50 years. I mentioned that I'd thought about writing a book on the topic and he encouraged me. Are we the only 2 people who'd be interested?

Enjoying seeing people love the David Lynch shrine I set up at Magfest. He influenced so many of my favorite games and made some of my all time favorite films.

Btw, I don't care for credit or anything. This was a tribute to a special artist at a special event. Keep paying respects all!

The Internet Archive is in danger More than 900 billion webpages are preserved on The Wayback Machine, a history of humanity online. Now, copyright lawsuits could wipe it out.

Internet Archive's founder, @brewster.kahle.org, spoke with @wbur.org's Megna Chakrabarti about the lawsuits against the Internet Archive, the importance of archiving the web, and the "constantly renewed mythological goal" of the Library of Alexandria.
