The City’s extreme weather response has been activated due to the hot weather.
It’s a good time to highlight the City’s growing network of water stations that help keep people hydrated. We have expanded from 5 stations in 2021 to 28 in 2025.

Just like Edmonton Transit’s record ridership, our campaign is welcoming more people aboard every day.🚉
Together, we are building a city where everyday people can build extraordinary lives; where affordability unlocks opportunity, with better transit, safer streets, and housing that’s within reach.

This is the important work of a city council and municipal government. It's rarely headline-grabbing, but making neighbourhoods safer, block by block, is what it's all about. Ashley is one of the best in North America at understanding this, and making needed change happen in Edmonton.

Outside of neighbourhood renewal, targeted upgrades like amber flashers, signalization, and flashing beacons help bridge the gap.
While provincial cuts and legislation changes have made this work harder by limiting enforcement and shrinking our toolkit, I am committed to continuing to push forward.

Temporary measures can help, but lasting change comes from well-designed streets that make safety and livability the default.
Neighbourhood renewal is one of our biggest opportunities to get this right by designing for people with raised crossings, traffic calming, curb extensions, and more.

Despite this progress, concerns about speeding, shortcutting, and dangerous driving remain, and there’s still so much more to do. Delivering safe streets requires a comprehensive approach including enforcement, education, targeted interventions, and as this video highlights, infrastructure upgrades.

Over the past four years, we’ve made progress. From amber flashers near schools to raised crosswalks and intersection upgrades, dozens of improvements have been delivered through the City’s Safe Crossings program right here in Ward Métis.

More families are moving here every day, and they deserve the peace of mind that comes with knowing their children can safely walk or bike to school, to the park, or to visit a friend.
Parents shouldn’t have to worry at every intersection. Seniors should feel safe crossing their own street.

Creating safe and livable streets is one of the most consistent concerns I hear from community members across Ward Métis. It crosses generations and neighbourhood boundaries. Everyone should be able to move around their neighbourhood with confidence. #yeg #WardMétis

I even ran into two of my favourite neighbours who bring smiles and laughter wherever they go! Thank you so much for the support. See you around this summer! 💛 #yeg

It's time to lace up our walking shoes for the municipal election in October or the provincial by-elections if you can manage both!
Also, you should be aware that @ashleysalvador.bsky.social's campaign kindly puts nice coffee shops right in the middle of your lit drop.

This forward-thinking action is one of the tools in our toolbox to implement Edmonton’s City Plan by growing in and up within our existing communities, creating a strong system of Nodes (urban centres) and Corridors (main streets) that encourages transit-oriented development.

While none of these areas are in Ward Métis, this is an important step towards building more homes in the right places, areas with momentum, where the recipe for vibrant, walkable, sustainable communities is already in place.

Thanks for highlighting the importance of having local representatives who will stand up for Edmontonians. I talked about this in a CBC interview a few weeks ago, and make it a pillar of my campaign platform (ashleysalvador.com).
