I didn't miss the point. I would prefer natural gas be burned instead of coal, a lesser evil, but too expensive, understood. However wording it "renewables and coal" can be misleading to some without showing the numbers. As the late Sir David MacKay would say "numbers, not adjectives".

Currently India's electricity mix is absolutely dominated by coal with a small bit of low emissions generation. Too bad Canada LNG is too expensive, it would be a lesser evil than this stunningly large amount of coal

Sure, but what scale? Do you agree with BNEF about BESS from late 2021 358GW/1TWh by 2030 at cost of $262 billion over 8 years? In 2024, BESS was 150GW/363GWh and global electricity consumption was 30,000TWh. This doesn't seem like nearly enough BESS to me. Some say TX will have 14GW/20GWh in '25

Live 24/7 COβ emissions of electricity consumption
Electricity Maps is a live 24/7 visualization of where your electricity comes from and how much CO2 was emitted to produce it.
Actually, according to the data, it would be more accurate to say the electricity generated in TX is mostly by gas, with some wind and solar and coal and nuclear. Batteries are likely not producing enough to bother a mention. app.electricitymaps.com/zone/US-TEX-...

The 100% WWS advocates show math sometimes. I wonder if they think all countries in the world will accept using much less energy in 2050 than they do today, eg Bangladesh -59%. I know this seemed ridiculous, bizarre and foolish, but they actually show it thesolutionsproject.org/what-we-do/i...

Voltage, inertia and the Iberian blackout part 1: the theory
The Iberian blackout demonstrated the importance of voltage control and reactive power, but these concepts are poorly understood
I would be great if you could discuss with βͺ@mzjacobson.bsky.socialβ¬ how synchronous inertia and tight tolerances for voltage and frequency, reactive power, etc will be done on electricity grids watt-logic.com/2025/07/16/v...
