I immediately wondered what, if any, contribution this sports psychologist has had on the noticeable increase in intensity the Sounders show this year. I don’t know the numbers but I suspect they have earned many more red cards than usual. That isn’t great but the passion more than compensates imo.

Thanks for this great thread. One thing I never see reported is the variance on xG. It’s common to see comparisons of xG to actual goals scored (or xGD) and characterizing the difference as “over” or “under” performance”, but I wonder if everyone reads that as “more” or “less” lucky.

Agreed. Schmetzer has an unassuming demeanor and Sounders’ rosters tend to be understated and lacking big-name, flashy/posh players (esp post Joe Roth) so they don’t draw media attention. But they almost always get results and often with gritty and determined efforts. HoF-er for sure #EBFG #Sounders

Brian does not focus on himself. I watched him during the award ceremony and he was way off to the side, letting the players shine. He always does that. He will be in the soccer HoF when he is done and he deserves that.

I feel like this mayor is the strongest incumbent candidate since Nichols’s run for a 2nd term. I think he will be #1. The wildcard is always turnout. Lower turnout would favor the mayor, I think.

Yes! Evergreen huckleberries are awesome in pies. A shredded Granny Smith as filler and a drop of almond extract aren’t imperative but definitely enhancing imo. Have them growing in my urban garden!

GMA was hijacked for decades by anti-density, anti-growth “enviros” and the consequences were more sprawl, higher housing costs, longer commutes, loss of forests and farms, social and racial exclusion, etc. I feel like we are finally pushing the needle ever so slightly in the right direction.

What does NIH do? In Seattle, this girl and this giant of research tell their stories Trump has attacked the National Institutes of Health, accusing it of being too big. Patients and doctors shared stories of the agency's lifesaving impact.

The consequences of current indiscriminate gutting of NIH research funding are real and gut wrenching. Let the brain drain commence.

It was a call, but the Rapids were lucky to be playing with 11 men -Jackson Travis should have been sent off with his 2nd yellow early in the 2nd half. Da Silva was even going to the pocket until it looked like he suddenly realized he’d already booked him once. Both calls were bad and consequential.
