Something about this sub-par weather and the general horribleness of the world has triggered my domestic switch. Banana loaf cooling on the bench, sweetcorn cooked for tonight's dinner and choc cherry fudge awaiting its generous coat of icing.

Rain, wind, 13 degrees and the heat pump is on. Just another dreary winter morning . . . except it's summer.

I had a lovely day then came home to awful news ... Luxflakes is back.

How many world leaders is "a number". Was it a specific invitation? Or more of a "Dear President/Prime Minister (insert name here)" form letter?

Oh goody, another thunderstorm rolling in. It's not bad enough that I was awake half the night with thunder and lightning disturbing my sleep, now there's another one.

Also very grateful it's only low 20s here and not mid 30s. Stacking firewood is hot work.

Feeling incredibly grateful that I had enough $$ to get three loads of firewood this year instead of the usual two, which is never quite enough.

Time is the biggest one I think. Someone who is working two jobs to pay the bills doesn't have time to volunteer at a community garden or wander around searching for berry farms.

I have decided it is too warm and my back is too sore to continue with lawnmowing or stacking firewood. I will instead go to the supermarket and buy cold things.

Oh it's so hard. Mum had a psychiatrist working on the right meds and it still took a while to find the right combo for her. Everyone reacts differently to the meds.

It has arrived and I love it! Thank you so much. I will find a little frame for it and add it to my little collection of art.
