6/ “I didn’t see any cyclists” is not data. Winter riders exist. Shift workers exist. People without cars exist. (there is actual data)

5/ Closing bike lanes also does not meaningfully save money. Plows are already out. Snow still needs clearing. The real cost comes later when safety drops and we rebuild what worked.

4/ Removing bike lanes does not create accessibility. It creates faster traffic and more dangerous streets. Personal parking inconvenience is not transportation policy. Cities cannot be redesigned around individual drop offs.

3/ The accessibility argument also falls apart. Protected bike lanes slow traffic and add space between moving cars and sidewalks. That helps seniors, mobility device users, and anyone moving at human speed.

2/ If a bike lane is buried under snow and boxed in by ice, that is not proof nobody bikes. That is proof it was cleared badly. Make infrastructure unusable and people stop using it. That is a maintenance failure.
