Shocking that Musk didn't have a hand in the creation of this thing, the names are just that right kind of "probably sounds edgy and cool to a teenaged shut-in" kind of aesthetic he's so fond of.

I'm "fortunate" in that I already don't subscribe to any of them, but that was less of moral decision and more of a financial one several months ago.

Except HBO Max anyway, that one was more of a "fuck David Zaslav" situation, because he hates creators and wants to run that shit into the ground.

Personally, I wouldn't boycott over ads unless I know for certain how the time was purchased, but that's just my criteria.

e.g., does the streaming service even actually control ad sales or is that contracted out to a separate service that handles everything, that sort of thing.

Especially worried by the 20% who think it's *very important*, because you know that's were the crazy is gonna come from.

American Southwest and not to *enter* but they come off at the door. There's always been a spot right by the door for taking your shoes off, even if I wasn't someplace with carpets.

Something doesn't become a statement of fact just because the person didn't specify it's an opinion.

We give opinions on things all the time without saying they're opinions.

e.g., "that guy's an asshole" is obviously opinion despite no qualifiers specifying it's an opinion.

If I had a nickel for every time I've seen that happen with that kind of lawyer misunderstanding defamation, specifically, I'd have two nickels.

Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

You can sue anyone for just about anything whenever you want, it's whether you're likely to see it go to trial and succeed that's up in the air.

She would not be. Not even remotely.

Right? How dare I notice at least one of my senators keeps voting to advance nominees for confirmation and subsequent approval when there's OTHER nominees stalled for different reasons.

I have a sneaking suspicion that she just knows the name is "Voice of America," assumes it's just the government's conservative AM talk radio station as a result, and has never once actually checked what it does. Even after getting the job.

DuckDuckGo has introduced a new feature allowing users to filter out AI-generated images from search results, addressing growing concerns over synthetic content overwhelming authentic visuals online.
The filter can be activated through a dropdown in the Images tab, search settings, or by using a dedicated AI-free domain: noai.duckduckgo.com. The system relies on curated blocklists, including uBlockOrigin’s Huge AI Blocklist, to detect and suppress AI-generated imagery.
While not perfect, it significantly reduces synthetic content visibility. This move sets DuckDuckGo apart from competitors like Google and Bing by giving users direct control over their exposure to AI-generated material.

"he places each priority of life into a pyramid, putting himself at the top, followed by his partner, children, work [...] the key is knowing when one priority should take precedence over the other."

Not sure Brady understands what a pyramid is in this context but putting himself at the top tracks.

Genuinely expecting a BP-esque PR blitz from most of them after this is all over.

Likely preceding a discussion about how--completely unrelated--for some it's gotten harder to keep the doors open and asking if anyone could possibly spare some cash.

(don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's impossible or that it's not worth trying--it's IMPERATIVE to try to deprogram these people--just that it's going to be difficult as hell)

That's not a "what if" scenario, the only unknown is just how many of them are going to decide whatever hard evidence you show them is fake, altered, etc.

Look at all the shit that never came to pass with Qanon, yet that bunch is still around (but, thankfully, in their own corner of the internet).

"living exclusively around these people for 15 years is what turned me into a nazi"

The shit some people will just come out and say on Al Gore's internet...

Probably also a safe bet he's got several tweets out there where he's losing his damn mind because people called him a fascist and/or nazi.

Haven't heard about a replacement anywhere else (at least not yet), so I'd lean toward joking, in hindsight.

The one Trump tried to pin everything on at trial, yes.

Which is what makes Trump's glowing endorsement even wilder, since "he was doing tax fraud for his own benefit and only his benefit and he did all this without me or the company knowing" was the last opinion he had about any of it.

it's like they're counting on everyone just deciding "well, guess I'll just die" if they don't have enough money to live.

Same. On top of that, with everything going up around here being either brand new homes or luxury apartments I'm not even sure I'll be able to afford a place to live if I *do* get to be truly old.

And I doubt my neck of the country is unique in that regard.

Kinda seconding this hypothesis, myself. Definitely the only explanation that approaches making any kind of sense.

Especially since if the group cosplay thing was a concern, uh...why not ask her?

Surely she'd know what she'd want more than a stranger on the internet.

Probably the first true thing she's ever uttered.

Since she's right, Trump doesn't want people like Nany Pelosi profiting off this.

Trump wants to see people like *him* profiting from it, not his enemies.

I genuinely think you're talking about a different generation but for some reason don't want to double check.

The biggest group of non-voters in the last election was voters under 30. Not millennials, who are between roughly 30 and 45 years old.

There's apparently at least one way to say that that feels even *less* reassuring.

Aside from that:

Personally, I'm all for discouraging people from running for a third Presidential term. I think that's a thing we should keep doing.

Especially for this one, but also in general.

That's a big step up for a lot of these people.
