10. Bait & switch on world hunger

Elon tweeted that he would be willing to donate if the UN World Food Programme had plan to solve world hunger with $6B. They made a plan (CNN). Musk gave the money to his own foundation for tax-dodging purposes instead (Truthout). (11 of 11)

9. N*zi salutes

This needs no explanation. This is not okay. Ever. (10 of 11)

8. Jet emissions

Elon travels more by private jet than almost anyone else in the country, averaging around one flight every other day (Business Insider). Once, he was considered a top environmental advocate but has reversed views. Individual billionaires will not solve the climate crisis. (9 of 11)

7. Taking classified docs

19 state attorneys have sued the Trump administration alleging that Elon & his team of young associates were unlawfully given access to restricted Treasury systems (incl. American's banking info)(CNN). This from the team who's website was hacked within days (8 of 11)

6. Privatizing public services

5. Union-busting

“I disagree with the idea of unions … I just don’t like anything which creates a lords and peasants sort of thing” - Elon Musk

He once threatened (via tweet) to take back stock options from Tesla workers, facing an NLRB complaint. He is now trying to cut the NLRB (6 of 11)

4. Tax avoidance

He receives but doesn't contribute. His business are built on $38 billion in federal funding. "Govt infusions at key moments helped Tesla and SpaceX flourish” (Washington Post). But his businesses pay very little in federal taxes. In both 2022 & 2024, Tesla paid $0 (ITEP)(5 of 11)

3. Gutting regulators

Elon cuts corners in his businesses A LOT (examples: disregarding licensing requirements at SpaceX, Tesla self-driving crashes/system failures, violating hazardous substance movement rules at Neuralink (NYT). He has since targetted the FAA, DOT, and other regulators (4 of 11)

2. Money in politics

Elon spent over a quarter of a billion dollars and was the largest donor in the 2024 election (CNN). The vast majority of his spending went to his own PAC (CBS News), effectively giving himself a larger say in politics. He was rewarded with a role in government (3 of 11)

1. Misinformation

Elon replaced the Twitter fact-checking system, increasing the volume of misinformation on the app (Vox) & he likely tweaked the algorithm to boost his own posts (The Independent). For a few days, his own AI listed him as the biggest spreader of disinformation! (2 of 11)
