The last Year of the Fire Horse was 1966, a year marked by the start of China's Cultural Revolution, the Aberfan disaster in Wales, and the escalation of the Vietnam War. Hang on, it's going to be a wild ride!

Personal opportunities for growth, bold action, and risk taking will abound, while Fire Horse years are also believed to disrupt the existing order of our societies.

The Association of Language Companies (ALC) has published a Language Access Toolkit to help individuals know and claim their language rights and to help community members and organizations in advocating for language equity.

Language access is not just about compliance, it empowers people and strengthens communities, while ensuring safety, dignity, and equal participation in education, healthcare, public services, and everyday life.

Lack of language access can lead to miscommunications, missed opportunities, and medical misdiagnoses. In the US, anyone who doesn't speak or understand English well has a legal right to language access in certain settings, incl. healthcare, education, and government services.

Everyone deserves to understand and be understood. Equal access to information, resources, and decision-making is both a human right and a civil right, regardless of the language you speak.
