This paper has been in the review process since 2018 (not all at JOB, but exhausting, nonetheless). Check it out at the link below.

Approximately 20 members of Elon Muskβs staff have begun working within the Education Department. They have gained access to multiple sensitive internal systems, including a financial aid dataset containing the personal information of millions of students enrolled in the federal student aid program.

Social media posting is what constituents do to help raise awareness. Itβs not all we want to see from our elected officials.
We know this sucks. We know this is an abuse of power.
Do. Something.
Do. More.
Is anyone working? I can't pull myself away from doom scrolling because anytime I look away, some other bullshit happens.

I want to compile a comprehensive list of research funding opportunities for our PhD students in HRM/Labor Relations as part of a doc seminar I'm teaching. I'd love to tap the community here to make sure I cover all my bases. Please share any that you know of. I'm happy to post the final list.
11.01.2025 16:52 β π 4 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0A paper I originally submitted in 2018 (4/20/18 - nice) got accepted today.
It's been through 4 journals, and it was initially submitted to the journal it was accepted in back in May 2019.
The paper has been in the review process longer than my youngest daughter has been alive.
Dear Work:
Nope, not yet.
Kthxbye.

Anyone from the Cosmere is had cuz Sanderson loves to write characters that go through substantial personal growth.
That said, I feel like Evi wouldβve resisted.
I would read a whole series of βwhat X would do with the ring.β

This one is the most βcheatingβ than anything else on my list I think, but after reading Wheel of Time, Iβve been systematically going through the Cosmere (Reading Wind and Truth now)

The Wheel of Time, Robert Jordan
Eh - It's still pretty preachy. Her whole normalization of sexual violence, male dominance, and female submission is truly hard to get through at times.
I think getting "the good messages" that she has in her books can be found in other, less awful sources.
Regardless, this book has stuck with me. There are anecdotes that I think of sometimes (e.g., don't use new technology to copy the past), but the major thing is exposure to different ideas can be informative (even if you donβt take on the authorβs intended meaning)
20.12.2024 17:28 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When I read it & Atlas Shrugged, I completely missed the point she was trying to get across. In my head, it was like, "Do what makes you happy," and it just so happened that production was what made her characters happy. If being selfless is what makes you happy, great! Clearly, not what she meant.
