the degree to which the NYT has become an institution not just uninterested in reality but actively antagonistic to it still manages to shock me every once in a while

The largest mass protests by number of participants in US history happened yesterday and the only mention on the front page of the NYT is Jamelle Bouie's opinion column: no diner-diving for sentiments of the unheard masses, no coverage of the Trump video, no sense for what it says about the moment.

Sometimes I wish I could be one of those women who can casually be at the airport in a great outfit and full makeup and high heel boots but unfortunately I am a “put me in my most comfy ass outfit and don’t look at me” type of airport girlie

they believe that women are commodities and trans women are counterfeit women. it’s just pure misogyny. they do not think women are people, and plenty of feminists are fully on board with this logic

1. In the immediate aftermath of Charlie Kirk's shooting, the WSJ laundered claims that "transgender symbols" were found with the shooter's gun.

Now, a press conference reveals that NO such symbols were found.

WSJ owes a full retraction and apology.

This is simply untenable. There is no way forward with media and political classes captured by the right. Every time someone commits a crime you have to pray it's not an undesirable or it's purge time, then when it turns out to be themselves again they just shrug and wait for the next one.

Trans people are real, they're not some made up statistic for a purity test. Some of us care about them, or are trans ourselves.
