New Book Haul
Have spent 2025 reading library books. Mostly on a no spend as we were having some hardships. Got a new job today, so treated myself to some new books as a well done for spending 8h a day job hunting since I got made redundant.
2026 hopefully will be more hopeful and happy

Im starting crime and punishment after this one as a slow burn. We should start the slow read club 🤣

Things already aggravating me about the job market:
🟩Lazy employers using AI
🟩Employers thinking skills you developed in the past arent relevant if you havent done them in the past year
🟩job profiles that dont give you the pay
🟩employers listing basic standards as "benefits"

📚📖 slow reading: Wuthering Heights for the first time. I pre-ordered the soundtrack to the new film yonks ago, have little to no intention of seeing the film as I have the attention span which doesnt like sitting for that amount of time..but feel like I should have read it by now. Things ive also done. Cancelled Spotify, deleted tiktok, fucked off the news cycle. Taken time to live life like the 90s, but with a bit of tech as adhd won't allow me to simply not know something benign at 3am. Evaluated whats actually important. Sat in front of a fire for hours. Chilled. 💚😍

So the week has ended far better than it started. Also ive got 2 job offers so won't starve to death or lose my home. So silver linings.

📚📖Just re-read The Will Of Many by James Islington, in preparation for the sequel. Got made redundant this week after 6y of being at my place, so I needed some cheering up. Forgot how much I enjoyed it. Then I saw we he accept my friend thingy on goodness and we are friends #booksky #jamesislington

I was in fact not going mad.. the record is different to digital. And it has bonus songs. Explains why I've just been sat here questioning my sanity to why I didnt remember a song. Love it even more
