I’m shocked this goes as hard as it does, is as funny as it is, and manages to be its own beast while retaining the relentless joke blitz strategy of the original. PS: I love you Pamela Anderson, I really hope you're having sex with Liam Neeson in real life.

La Cocina (2024) Dir- Alonso Ruizpalacios

Epic Theater about a dysfunctional restaurant in chaos, featuring drama so forced, tensions so unearned, and characters so unlikable that it must be art. I did like that it centered the immigrant working class & the American servant-labor squeeze.

Cloud (2024) "クラウド" Dir- Kiyoshi Kurosawa

Starts as a hustle and grind narrative about an ethically dubious internet reseller. Then, halfway through, the movie makes an insanely wild jag. Genre deconstruction that paints capitalism as exploitation, murder and an existential descent into hell.

Pee-wee as Himself (2025) Dir- Matt Wolf

Paul Reubens was a game changer, and this makes the case for that with love and class. Those of us who came of age in the 80s, we are the children of Pee Wee, and this fairly sprawling doc is a real gift for us.

Let's start a new movie post. Every movie I've seen that was released in the States (legally) in late 2024 or 2025... I'll post them in the order I saw them, a few a day. Eventually I'll catch up to where I am (as if starting this, I've only seen 18 new movies so far this year...)

Hey @letterboxd.social! The weirdest thing is happening to my Recent Activity section on the website. It's listing a movie in my recent four that I haven't logged since October 2021. My diary has the right movies in it, and even the app on my phone shows my recent activity correctly. Strange, non?

for now it's some kind of promotional thing. I really don't know. Hopefully we'll do a wide release at some point.
