I’ve found this platform to be the worst about this, AI can be incredibly useful. You do need to treat it with caution and there a genuine issues that we as a society have yet to even grasp yet, such as AI induced psychosis. It’s hard to have an honest conversation about it anywhere.

When reading the article, I think they meant they were treating the wildfire as a controlled burn, not that they were performing one, and then it became unmanageable.

Bottom line is this: a good teammate and person will bring people TOGETHER and a toxic one will tear them apart.

Team troubleshooting calls became non-existent. Any chatter after a meeting ceased. As long as that person was there in any way, no one wanted to be there.

Agree with this 1000% and it reminds me of one time when at a previous employer, we had a well skilled and smart engineer who was just toxic. It didn’t matter how good they were at their job when no one wanted to work or correspond with them.

As someone who is pretty pro AI, especially compared to bsky, this is one of the best examples and criticisms of how it’s being implemented and what risks are involved.

I hate to say it but I fear this service is just filled with haters. I don’t know how else to put it. Can’t talk AI. Anything about any business isnt in some negative light etc. It’s full of detractors and its quickly losing its appeal.

Yep. People really misunderstand who makes the laws. Congress made it, voted on it, sent to the presidents desk, he signed it. And then Trump just said naaah.

Most people are simply not informed. And that is not to denigrate them. It’s just the nature of the world and our attention.

If arming Ukraine is the threshold for nuclear war, that threshold is already strikingly too low and will be used for pretext for the next escalation. So it’s either now or it’s then next one. At one point the world will need to say stop. When will that be?

You are not going to get a disparate group of angry people to listen and change behavior. So how do you spin this and redirect that criticism to make an argument against the Trump admin? Because that’s what it’s about.

I hear you. But what do you think will change that behavior? Obviously not harping about it on social media. But if it’s already there, there is nothing that is going to change or alter people from doing it. So what’s the next best option?
