18.11.2025 01:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0At one point in time it made sense to run your own mail server. Over time that made less and less sense due to the cost, complexity and importance of actually doing it successfully. With AI we've speed run this gradual change and went directly to there's only five companies that can do it.
10.11.2025 21:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Being able to run your own AI will be exponentially harder and more expensive than running your own website, requires specialized hardware, power, cooling, completely new software stack, etc.
10.11.2025 21:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0One important thing about the development of AI in its current form that I don't think people are talking about is how it will bring about an acceleration of consolidation and centralization beyond what we see today.

The way the cgroups penalize an application when they hit the limit is to pause the service, that includes in-flight requests/responses. "Throttled threads will not be able to run again until the next period when the quota is replenished." The default period is 100ms docs.kernel.org/scheduler/sc...

Finally data to back up what I've been saying about operating Kube clusters and running services on top of Kube for nearly ten years.
After re-imaging this thing i got access to it and seem to have P4 working finally! The crazy part? This NIC runs kubernetes!
