i reference Dream Askew / Dream Apart SO frequently when editing, giving design feedback, etc. & it's such a shame how few have played it relative to other indie games. it's such a groundbreaking set of systems & is upstream of basically every narrative TTRPG since it released. you GOTTA know it.

i think it’s certainly possible! rearguard does a lot of cool stuff w beam saber specific mechanics like cut loose & spark. it really uses everything in the game at its disposal & more to the best possible effect

i haven’t actually played it but the beam saber supplement REARGUARD is truly one of the best pieces of game design ever made. completely rewired my brain. if i was thinking more about ttrpg design generally these days i would be insufferable about it roswellian.itch.io/rearguard
