sn-RNA-seq analysis of wild-type and RTT rat brain. Nuclei were isolated from brains of wild-type rats and transgenic rats with loss of MECP2. (A) 10Γ— single-cell RNA sequencing was performed, and single-cell profiles were obtained. (B) Gene expression profiles were plotted with UMAP, and several different neuronal subtypes were identified in various clusters as indicated. (C) A plot of DEGs between wild-type (WT) and RTT (MT) rat brain. (D) Plotted are the number of DEGs (upregulated and downregulated) in each neuronal subtype.

Abril Morales & co demonstrate that neurons lacking MECP2 show signs of elevated DNA damage and senescence transcriptional signatures, which could contribute to phenotypes in patients with Rett syndrome. doi.org/10.1242/dmm....

Change-of-mind neuroeconomic decision-making is modulated by LINC00473 in medial prefrontal cortex in a sex-dependent manner Long non-coding RNA LINC00473 in mPFC alters change-of-mind re-evaluative decision-making behavior related to negative rumination.

The Cai Lab is at @mpfneuro.bsky.social's Emerging Neurotechnology course this week, running a #Miniscope workshop. The course kicked off Monday with an AMAZING keynote by Nobel Laureate @stefanhelllabs.bsky.social.

Looking forward to the rest of the week’s activities! πŸ€“ #Neuroskyence

NIDA notice of award

NIDA notice of award

I am so happy to share that our lab was awarded our first (!!!) R01, the Stephen Katz R01 through NIDA! This award will allow our lab to expand into the fields of reward and addiction, where we will examine the prefrontal GABAergic circuits of adaptive and maladaptive reward seeking! We're hiring!
