Does “Duskmourn House of Horror” function differently from regular commander? I have a vague memory of him telling me one version plays a bit differently. I think it was possibly the cowboy themed one (I might be mistaken). Is he not going to be able to play if he doesn't have Duskmourn cards?

The boxes they give you are such a disappointment. For what the cards cost, it should really be a bit sturdier. That's not a question, just an irked observation.

Why is it 40 life instead of 20? The few times I played as a child it was not this much (yes I recognize this is “commander” — I retained bits from everything he's said but you must admit it's a lot of things to remember and I have ADHD).

Do they make the big cards big just arbitrarily or does that serve a purpose beyond being terribly inconvenient?

Hello Magic the Gathering Bluesky. I bought a commander deck because my husband plays. I based my choice on the color because it's pretty (don't mock me, I'm trying to be engaged and interested) I have questions, and I thought it would be nice to not ask him directly.
