Progress on my Final Fantasy I cross stitch: finished the grey line-border to the left and top surrounding the four party members (Fighter, White mage, Black belt, Black mage); starting my way down the right hand side

And now for the boring progress: more grey pole borders! Granted, this is nothing compared to stitching endless black rows on black cloth, haha, but tedium always has its moments. Made it to the corner of what’ll start the name & health boxes, though, so that’s something! #FinalFantasy #crossstitch

Finally took some time to upgrade my tiny studio! Been pondering building a wall easel for a while. And it doubles as a display!
Quite satisfied with the result, though a bit of paint on the beams might not be a bad idea 😅

I don’t know if it’s the simplistic design and colors, especially after such a complicated cross stitch of the Stardew map, but this is such a satisfying piece to make progress in. Black Aida cloth is just so beautiful to work on. Art progress is the best 🥰 #FinalFantasy #crossstitch

It begins! Look at their little selves! The only challenge with this piece is going to be spacing - I counted out the 35 spaces between the center pole and black mage a solid eight times 🤣 Love that I got to aim for the little buggers first! #finalfantasy #crossstitch

Adding a few details digitally (log, woodpecker, and willow tit) to see how it works before painting it in, I was really surprised when I mirrored the painting. Original on the left, mirrored on the right. It feels like a breath of fresh air 😄

I was full of doubt as well 😂

A collage of an oil painting, the left side before fur was added to a bull elk and the right side after fur was added.

A snippet of the color mixes I used to paint the fur. It includes burnt umber, ultramarine blue, yellow ochre, Cad yellow, Naples yellow, and alizarin crimson.

Putting the fur where it belongs! Finally got around to doing the fur on this elk. Still a way to go before everything's done!
