I do that sometimes too, and have gotten some of my favorite dresses that way (and one that I really wish I'd gotten).

When I transitioned, I went from liking milk chocolate better to liking dark chocolate better (around 70%). Just one of the weird things about transitioning.

Second, I completely get this. We're doing retirement planning now and I honestly never thought I'd be doing that.

If you're looking for suggestions, I always juice the apples from our tree. Just run them through a food processor until they're mush and then strain them with cheesecloth. (I use a press, but I have a ton of apples.)

Failing that, coco apple cake is always good.

This seems like a good weekend to check in on your friends and neighbors. Between the government shutdown (and all that entails), and everything else going on...even the "mom" friend could use a helping hand. Or at least a friendly word.
