NSW Libs could win a lot of votes if they basically ran on a platform of continuing to build the same sort of metro they just completed. Link tullawong to st Mary’s for instance. Or city to Zetland. Huge vote winner but they seem to also be shying away for some reaosn

Also gas use in our grid is less than half of what it was 15 years ago and we extract a lot more gas, so someone is lying (it’s the gas lobby)

Might it be a definitional issue - like Canada and Aus take in a lot of students, might be distorting the figures?

Woollahra Council are having a massive sook over plans for more housing directly behind Edgecliff Station. They say one of the richest parts of the country has enough housing already, and moan about traffic and heritage.

Have your say:

It makes sense if we refuse to increase housing supply. If we just built more housing to accommodate the students then there would be little political pressure to self inflict harm like this

Kevin you assume News Corp is genuinely trying to produce journalism and not just the press arm of the LNPs election campaign. They’re trying to build momentum

Both headline and trimmed mean inflation in Australia are around target
The monthly trimmed mean inflation rate points to a further step down in quarterly annual trimmed mean inflation.
The Mthly CPI is continuing to see more items with annual inflation below 2%yoy than above 3%

Australia’s composite PMI +0.7pts to 51,3 in March mainly driven by manufacturing with new orders and employment up.

Input price pressures rose but output price pressures fell.

Plus Australia’s grid uses half the gas we did a decade ago, and we drill a lot more gas than we did 10 years ago. It’s a made up crisis designed to justify ever more gas extraction for export
