Comic. [two people in labcoats look at body pierced with blade draped over bench] PERSON 1: We found him lying uncomformably on the lab bench. I wonder if the iron-rich intrusion in his back is related. PERSON 2 with ponytail: It could be clastic. Maybe a rift opened in his body, and the intrusive material later fell into the hole. Nazi oligarchs have seized treasury control of an authoritarian White House and everyone seems kinda chill about it - The Shot Capitalism and democracy, despite what you’ve been led to believe, are not the same thing. Capitalism eats democracy if unsupervised.

I hadn't realized leaded gasoline hit Gen-X so specifically. I always assumed it was the paint I stripped around the house, as a kid.

Fun fact the guy who invented leaded gasoline also invented ozone depleting CFCs. Thanks for damaging my entire generation Thomas Midgley Jr.

1/ Here's my take on what's happening with DOGE.

I've got fed experience through contracting with Health & Human Safety, Head Start, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and DOD. I get brought in when people need to get shit done. Other people here have way more experience than me.

What I should have done in the beginning - here's a starter pack of 20-odd experts who journalists or others might want to read/talk to to understand the gutting of the administrative state (as opposed to broad decline of democracy etc). I've focused on academics go.bsky.app/MaC7vnv

Some basic math about cutting government Putting the wild Muskawamy numbers in perspective

Muskawamy are claiming they will cut $2 trillion in government spending, and 75% of federal employees. Are such numbers feasible?
No, unless they absolutely gut state capacity and the safety net. 🧡
