In a pre-internet age, Sappho provided LGBTQ+ support through a magazine, social events and a postal Cassette Club.

In 1976 for £1.50 you could borrow cassette recordings offering advice on coming out, women's rights and consciousness raising, and two titles on transgender experiences.
