Frankly the more you indulge in game dev, the more you start to feel bad for developers of half-baked AAA games instead of feeling like it's their obligation to provide, it really is just one big bug hunt that takes much longer than anyone likes to admit

Having built many many kinds of software products, I can't tell you that the hardest final 20% goes to games over all else.

That first 80% is way more fun, but that final 20 is soul destroying.

It's essentially just looking at bugs going "ah, shit." #gamedev

I've decided to add a new desert theme to my WIP #dreamdisc25 project for the #dreamcast

The actual levels (10) are more or less complete and I can finally focus on polishing and audio.

There's still so much to do for #dreamdisc25, but at least the game loop is almost complete. The visuals also got some love.

One of the biggest challenges since the Gamescom demo for MD was figuring out animation skinning. Thanks to @kazade.bsky.social 's work on implementing the base framework for gltf anim channel import and @falcogirgis.bsky.social 's sh4zam work, Jeenie can smoothly move!

The DC scene has a pretty strong persence at Gamescom. There's no way they're not at least somewhat paying attention. Met someone from SoA, the both of us sitting right next to homebrew games running ๐Ÿคฃ. It wasn't the focus, but he sounded totally on board with retro stuff
