What makes anti-DEI talking points #racist? Lots of things, but one is the assumption that diversity comes at the expense of excellence. Apologists will argue the issue is the biased DEI system, not the diversity. But that reveals a racist preference for a “color blindness” that favors white people.

Kamala Harris has revealed she would have chosen Buttigieg if she didn’t feel it was already a risk that Americans wouldn’t vote for a Black woman. I think maybe the lesson is that when we don’t think Americans will go for a “first” candidate, run the campaign you want, not the compromise.
