Governor McKee, you should be ashamed. You are demanding a public service agency that has been operating *efficiently* cut meat off their own bones because *you* decided not to fund it at the level you were told was *required* to maintain service. 1/2

Governor McKee's suggestion reduce's RIPTA from barely adequate to being on life support, making it impossible for citizens to rely on public transportation in this state. Not because it is inefficient, but because *his administration* chose to allocate less public funds than it needs to operate.

No he's right the system needs to right size it's just that the right size is full implementation of the TMP

Anyway.. my takeaway here is that the reason Alviti didn't adequately argue for resources needed for RIPTA is that he really does want to destroy it. He may *imagine* he can rebuild it better, but he's wrong, he's just destroying peoples lives.

Also the idea that if RIPTA makes "attractive" reductions now it will get funds next year... "If we make ourselves small tonight, maybe he'll shower us with affection tomorrow" is never ever a healthy dynamic.

Listening to @ripta.com's board meeting and Alviti's implication that this is an exciting time and maybe gutting RIPTA's service will lead RIPTA to find some magic new model that is way more "efficient" than any comparable system is absolutely *infuriating*.

"Lindsey provided NBC6 documentation that shows she arrived at the so-called Alligator Alcatraz on July 6 and worked at the controversial detention center for about a week before she caught Covid and had to isolate." So there's also Covid at the concentration camp (according to at least one person)

My main complaint with the way RIPTA handled the budget was that the board should have asked for enough money to satisfy the TMP, not just the minimum needed to sustain useful operation.

My real outrage is directed at the governor and legislators who decided to not even provide that *bare minimum*.
