Sportico has come out with new valuations of MLS teams based on publicly available information and financial records. They value Colorado Rapids at $480 million, 28th, ahead of only Montreal and Vancouver (save the Whitecaps). Value is up +1 from 2025.

One thing I will say: it feels like the owners are getting off awfully lightly in all this. All the smoke is going toward BC or Axel, but how the fuck after 15 years in MLS do you let it get to this point #vwfc

#VWFC 's Axel Schuster will talk to media again tomorrow about the stadium situation. The past 24 hours haven't been the best for the club, and it looks like clarification is coming.

The more I think about it, the more I think the released statement was a PR blunder.

It should have said:

"This offer is a positive first step and provides better support for the team to play in BC Place. However, the long term feasibility of the team requires a soccer specific stadium." #vwfc

Hold back on the joy about the BC government to the Whitecaps. Seemingly not enough.

Leagues Cup games have to be played in a MLS approved stadium.

Canadian Championship games can be played in another Vancouver area stadium.

CONCACAF Champions Cup games have to be played in Canada.

Biggest roster need for the Whitecaps is a home for the roster.

The stadium situation of the 28 MLS teams not named Vancouver or SKC is for all 28 of them closer to the situation SKC is in than the one Vancouver is in. Whitecaps have a worse situations than the two Rome teams being held for a ransom rent by the Italian OC. Fair to say they’re the exception

Vancouver Whitecaps FC has acquired Ecuadorian youth international Bruno Caicedo via transfer from Ecuadorian LigaPro Serie A side Barcelona SC.

Caicedo has agreed to a U22 Initiative contract through the 2028-29 MLS season, with a club option for the 2029-30 season.
