Die meisten Heime haben keine Wartelisten mehr. Man muss halt ständig anrufen

Auf der Liste der Alzheimer-Gesellschaft stehen insgesamt etwa 150 Heime – da eine gute Auswahl zu treffen und die sich dann alle anzuschauen, ist ein ziemlicher Aufwand

Ich hatte bisher genau ein Heim, wo man sofort sagte "überhaupt kein Problem" und vier, wo man meinte, das kriege man schon irgendwie hin. Das erste wäre eigentlich mein Wunschheim, aber da kann es natürlich ewig dauern

Ich arbeite mich durch die Liste von der Alzheimer-Gesellschaft durch, aber im Ostteil der Stadt hatte ich bisher den größten Anteil von blöden Aussagen über Sprachkenntnisse. In Kreuzberg und Charlottenburg ist es besser; Steglitz/Zehlendorf habe ich noch nicht systematisch probiert

Welches ist das denn?

Ja, hat mich auch gewundert. Eins der Heime, wo angeblich niemand Englisch kann, hat auch Pflegekräfte z.B. aus afrikanischen Ländern (wie man mir auf Anfrage mitteilte). Dass man in manchen afrikanischen Ländern Englisch spricht, war offenbar nicht bekannt

Könnt Ihr vielleicht Tipps geben, welche Heime ich mir anschauen sollte?

Als Pfleger*innen, Alltagshelfer*innen und Ehrenamtliche hatten wir schon Leute aus allen möglichen Ländern: Lettland, Kroatien, Brasilien, aber natürlich auch junge Deutsche, für die das gar kein Problem ist

Müssen ja keine Muttersprachler*innen sein. Ich denke, es hat eher was mit der Einstellung von manchen Heimleitungen zu tun – die haben keine Ahnung, wer Englisch kann und keine Zeit/Lust zu fragen

Ja. Offenbar eine sehr seltene Sprache, die in Berlin niemand spricht

Ich brauche dringend noch mehr Betreuung, aber der Pflegedienst hat erstens nicht mehr Kapazitäten, und zweitens kostet eine Stunde über 50€.

Es gab ein Heim, das mir wirklich gut gefallen hat. Leider winzig und kein freier Platz

Die Heime sind teilweise jwd – vor kurzem gab's freie Plätze im westlichsten Winkel von Spandau, aber um mir das anzuschauen hätte ich 4 Std. am Stück Betreuung gebraucht
