Every reputable expert I know considers mRNA vaccine technology to be one of the most revolutionary advances in medicine in our lifetimes. Its inventors won the Nobel Prize in 2023. Shutting it down now is pointless self-harm to humanity.

Wellington signs friendly city agreement With Palestinian city of Ramallah Ramallah was a cultural and administrative centre for the Palestinian Authority, and home to about 85,000 people.

There are no words to describe the feeling I had as I met with Mayor Issa Kassis to sign a Friendly City Agreement. A moment I’ll never forget 🇵🇸

Generative AI by definition is conformity. It is an averaging of anything you ask of it - quite literally guessing what the most likely version of a thing might be. It is, by definition, mainstream, as is everything it creates old and deeply ideological, as every model trains on similar data.

Brown University is ‘functionally inaccessible’ to transgender students after Trump settlement “Everyone I talked to thought it only applied to sports. But it applies to everything," one transgender student told The Advocate.

The Trump administration effectively created a de facto bathroom ban at Brown University and none of the major media is covering it, and if they do, they character it as about sports. This is how the trans visa ban was enacted and characterized.

I believe one of the new mRNA vaccines was expected to treat colon cancer, and another had the potential to keep pancreatic cancer from recurring. That’s what they’re taking away.

weird how the guy born into obscene wealth, bailed out repeatedly, allowed to fail upwards forever until he fell ass-backwards into the presidency, and then was declared by the Supreme Court to be a Very Special Boy Who Can Crime Forever never stops whining about how everything is rigged against him

Get To Know: Ryan Porteous The Scottish center-back (b. 1999) strengthens a backline in need of help after the season ending injury for Aaron Long

Aaron Long is gone for the season. Ryan Porteous is the man called to get his spot, at least for 2025. But moving onwards, who knows if they couldn’t both contribute as starters for the club? (B-)

It is dissimilar bc the Evander and Lucho trades happened due to, frankly, the players self sabotaging their stay at clubs where they were beloved by fans and front office alike. There’s like, a dozen of such transfers a year. Djordje left for a “more ambitious club”. That’s the norm of transfers

05.08.2025 14:08 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

Ok but even this is a relatively standard practice in the transfer world. So far, other big money DP moving through cashfers have been two guys who self sabotaged their stay at their previous club and a fatality from the lack of cap space. He’s the first “normal” transfer of this size MLS has seen

You’d have a situation like in the Netherlands’ 3rd tier, the last amateur division before going pro, where most teams that win the division just renounce their promotion because it’d be unsustainable for them to go up. USLL2 teams are built off of college players. They’d have to rebuild the roster

05.08.2025 07:33 — 👍 5    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

I mean, definitely, I worded it wrong. What I meant is that “bigger salary” is the motive behind 90% of moves in this sport. The previous DP cashfers we’ve seen involved disgruntled player who had burned bridges with the franchise or a guy who the Galaxy just couldn’t get under the cap

04.08.2025 17:02 — 👍 2    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Not OP but I’d guess it refers to richer Liga MX teams from bigger markets just outmuscling financially the smaller teams by signing their best players for lots of money

04.08.2025 16:59 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

You, a casual: “I’m excited to see Müller and Son in MLS :) the league is truly growing when players like this arrive so early or go outside the big markets”

Me, a sicko: “Djordje to Toronto is THE SHIT, it’s a game-changing move for MLS and it’s going to shape so much of the league to come!”

04.08.2025 16:56 — 👍 10    🔁 1    💬 1    📌 0

This league will never get fully rid of parity (at least I hope) and financial muscle is not clearly related to footballing muscle, but this is the MLS move that most resembles how the market works worldwide: big team just splash the cash on shiny new toys and smaller teams profit off it

04.08.2025 16:50 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

Can’t rn as I’m on vacation but I might write about this move being a truly defining moment for Cashfers, Toronto, the ability of MLS to retain talent and the league as a whole. This is huge. A small note: this is the first big Cashfer not related to off-field issues. TFC just came and got their guy

Atlanta is apparently close to completing the signing of a new midfielder and one that seems to fit perfectly in the role that Atlanta hasn’t filled since the MLS Cup and has been look in desperately to find a solution for (B+)

They couldn’t even hide that the only thing blocking this deal was the friendly in South Korea lol, the match ended a couple hours ago and we already have the news of the deal being finalised. It’s giving NBA free agents locking up their contract at 12:04AM on first day of free agency

Standing up for the smallest of minorities is important because when you accept the premise that one group are expendable because small or ‘insignificant’, you have accepted the idea of the expendability of human life in general, and the enemy will use your acquiescence to pick off yet more.

I must’ve mistaken the origin of the team’s brand identity, and I’m sorry. But my comment was mostly aimed at a trend in lower division American soccer of brand identities that, from a European perspective, seem like a mock-up of what is done in Europe, but that’s just my view! Agree to disagree

As promised above, the former Montreal man is the next in line. He seems like a perfect fit for Dolo ball, but considered that he earned his move to Europe and an All Star tag under a very different coach like Courtois, he might be a fit even for the next stage of LAFC

Wait Leagues Cup had two games in one night at Sports Illustrated Stadium? I had no clue that was possible. Did they sell the tickets as two games or as a double header? I know both games weren’t that well attended but logistics must’ve been a bit of a pickle

Everyone loves Sentnor's bangers but we gotta be honest here: the KC coaching staff's overriding job to make her a better player is to tell her to get inside the box before shooting
