The Moscow Stock Exchange Index has just risen sharply following Donald Trump’s announcement on measures against Russia.
Analysts say this may be due to the fact that investors were expecting Mr Trump to pledge even harsher measures.

In a statement, he said he didn't recognise the court's authority. The move comes as another celebrated author & Kremlin critic was put on a police wanted list. Dmitry Bykov, who lives in the US, is accused of spreading "fake" info about the Russian army's actions in Ukraine.

One of Russia's most popular writers has been sentenced in absentia to fourteen years in prison on charges of justifying terrorism. Boris Akunin, a famous crime novelist who lives in exile in London, is an outspoken critic of Vladimir Putin and the war in Ukraine.
